Cherry Wood – As you can probably tell by the name, this evenly grained wood is characterized by it’s red/brown undertones. It easily caters to different finishes and ages beautifully. Cherry wood cabinets are extremely versatile for both more traditional and modern looks. 

Oak – Oak cabinets often conjure up images of the oak craze so popular during 1990’s home design. But with the variety of shades and finishes available today, it’s easy to include oak cabinetry that reflects current style sensibilities (it’s perfect if you love rustic design). onus – oak is extremely durable and easy to maintain.

Fantastic Flooring

Hardwood – All natural and a traditional favourite among many, hardwood comes in a wide variety of species and colours. From oak to cherry, the options are endless. Aside from its elegant appearance, hardwood is also very easy to clean. One thing to keep in mind – its natural properties make it softer and more susceptible to shrinkage (from humidity levels) and scratches. 

Laminate – If you’re not sure about 100% hardwood, consider laminate flooring  instead. Mostly comprised of wood, this type of flooring looks great, is easy to install and very affordable. Laminate is also resistant to moisture, is extremely durable, and easy to clean. 

Vinyl Plank – Vinyl plank flooring is completely engineered – making it extremely moisture resistant. Vinyl plank also looks like wood flooring in pattern and colour and is very durable and easy to maintain – ideal if you have children or pets.  

Other Ideas – Talk to your builder about tile, bamboo, cork and any other flooring options that may appeal to you – flooring options are numerous and can set the tone for your entire kitchen and home.
