Sledding and tobogganing are as Canadian as hockey, Tim Hortons and maple syrup. Unlike some Canadian cities who have an outright ban on this fun wintertime activity, Calgary, Airdrie and Okotoks decided to approve certain hills to keep everyone safe – or at least as safe as you can be rocketing down a hill on a small wooden or plastic device.

While each of these slopes has been chosen because of a lack of trees and rocks and other hazards, it is recommended that you wear a helmet and be aware of other sledders around you at all times.
